Saturday we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City after a long day travelling. We were definitely in the centre of a huge city, we've seen a lot of crazy driving since we've been away but this was moped mayhem!! We were extremely happy to arrive at Kate and Max's appartment which would luckily feel like home over the next few weeks. We ordered Mexican food to be delivered and played cards in the mix of all our talking about places we've travelled and places we will be travelling, after dinner we were glad to get to bed.
Sunday we had a nice lie in, it's so nice to be in a home! We were able to unpack our backpacks and put our clothes in a washing machine and a wardrobe! We got ready then headed out for brunch at L'uisine before heading to backpackers street for a mooch around the shops, the boys got their hair cut then we found a nice bar with cheap drinks so that's where we spent the afternoon. Later we went to a nice shisha bar before heading back to the appartment for tea, Vitanemese pork with rice which was yummy! After dinner we watched the documentary 'Blackfish' about Seaworld then headed to bed.
Monday we had another good lie in then spent the rest of the day on the sofa planning our next adventures and watching Game of Thrones. Kate and Max get a 2 hour lunch break so came back at 11:00 and bought us Kebabs, very tasty and not like the greasy ones at home. When Kate and Max returned again after they finished work we went for a trip to the supermarket to get supplies for the week. For dinner we ordered Chinese food which had the exciting novelty of coming in the traditional Chinese takeaway box! The great thing about Ho Chi Minh is the variety of restaurants which all deliver so you never have to cook, it's usually cheaper to eat takeout than it is to cook or visit a restaurant as well!
Tuesday we were up and ready to meet Kate and Max at 11:00 for brunch at a restaurant on Backpackers Street. Kate and Max returned to school whilst we visited travel agents to book a trip to Mekong Delta in a couple of weeks, then we went to the train station to buy tickets for places we want to visit next week, Mui Ne, Nha Trang & Da Lat. After, we resumed to our sofa position to watch Games of Thrones until Kate and Max came home. For dinner Kate and Max cooked us Lasagne, it was so nice smelling home food being cooked and it was great eating it too!!! We spent the evening paying cards before heading to bed.
Wednesday we had another lazy sofa day of planning trips and watching more Games of Thrones. Kate and Max returned for lunch and we ordered some salads. When Kate and Max finished work we all went for Sushi and Cupcakes before returning to the flat to play cards and bed.
Thursday we continued with our lazy routine of watching Game of Thrones and flicking through Lonely Planet books to make some more plans. When Kate and Max got home from work we ordered burgers then drank cider and played games, we headed out to a bar that runs beer pong and we're joined by their friends Charlie and Rachel which was a great laugh.
Friday we had a lie in after last night's shenanigans, feeling sorry for Kate and Max having to had gone to work so early, by time Ben got out of bed they had returned for their lunch break!! Kate and Max came home bearing gifts of McDonald's which went down a treat! And as you can guess we spent the rest of the day stuck to the sofa watching Game of Thrones until Kate and Max returned again. We packed up a bag for the next week as we are off exploring, for dinner we had Vietnamese food, Mi Quang and Bun Bo Hue both sort of noodle soup, not our most favourite food we've tasted. At 19:00 we caught the train to Mui Ne.
