Sunday, we arrived at the train station at 6:30am and had decided we would stay in Anjuna so took a hour taxi to our accommodation. When we arrived everyone was still asleep, so we sat and waited in the common area, not bothered as we were pretty tired ourselves. Eventually the staff emerged and made us breakfast and checked us in.... A non AC room! We lasted about 4 hours in the non AC room before handing over more money and moving to the wonderful Aircon room. We took a stroll to the beach which is only a simple 500 metres away and found a bar for some drinks and for dinner, there was also a ping pong table, some other Indian game table we attempted playing and 4 adorable puppies!! The boys took a dip in the very crazy wavy sea whilst Laura basked in the sun... Bliss. We went back to the hostel to shower then headed back to the beach for dinner, the walk back to the hostel was very dark so it was decided that for now on we would most definitely carry a torch!
Monday, we had a nice lie in then hired out some mopeds to explore a little, Uday (the really cool hostel owner) advised somewhere for breakfast so we went and it was the best food we've had in ages!! After, we drove north to some other beaches however the sea wasn't nice there, kind of brown, so we didn't stay and drove back, however it wasn't a waisted drive as the area is so beautiful and tropical, the roads are so quiet... It was just a really nice drive! We went back to the hostel and freshened up then walked to the beach for dinner.
Tueaday, we had a lie in then went with a group from our hostel for breakfast at a local vegan restaurant called Artjuna... Again amazing food. After we drove to Baga beach which was a really nice beach but crazy busy, we managed to find a quieter spot away from Indians crowding the sea and spotted 2 white people for Laura to sit with. The boys went off into the sea and Laura sat with the nice couple from Leicester who come to Anjuna for a month every May and December, luckily the gentleman knew how to say 'go away' in Indian so would shout at any men who starred or tried to take photos of us. We went back to the hostel and freshened up then walked to our beach for dinner.
Wednesday, we had a lie in then went to the nice restaurant we went to on the first day again because we liked it so much. After, we decided that we would just chill at our beach today with 2 girls, Julia and Bec, from Australia, that we had got friendly with. It was a nice day relaxing in the sun and Ben and Chris spent majority of their time in the sea! On Wednesdays there is a Flea Market in Anjuna which we browsed at although it's a lot quieter at this time of year. We went back to the hostel to freshen up then a big group of us went down to the beach for dinner.
Thursday, we had a lie in then went for breakfast at Artjuna, we were all feeling pretty tired today (especially Chris who fell asleep on the stairs for 2 hours last night and is suffering with hangover), we decided to chill around the hostel to avoid midday sun then head out a little later. At 15:00 we went to the beach with Julia and Bec until it was time to return to the hostel for a lovely meal cooked by the hostel assistants. We packed our bags and had a early night as tomorrow we have to leave - boohoo.
