We have made it to Siem Reap!
Not the worst journey, but still took longer than we had hoped! We were early to the place where we had booked our bus tickets yesterday and waited until just after 9am. At this time they squeezed 13 of us into an 8 seater mini bus to get to the bus station. We got there about half 9 and had to wait an hour for the local bus to arrive. From there it took 4 and a half hours to get to Siem Reap, which wasn't too bad especially as me and Shane had the back seats to ourself!
We got off before the main stop as our map app was showing that the place we had booked wasn't too far. It was pretty hot so the 10 minute walk definitely felt a lot longer!
We checked in and were taken to our room which is lovely! It's massive with a huge bed and aircon. As we are here for four weeks it's nice to know we have somewhere good to stay!
We haven't done much since we arrived here other than unpack and grab some food. Tomorrow we are planning on a wander to get our bearings and a chill out before starting our volunteering at the school. I am starting to get really nervous now, mainly because I don't know what to expect, but hopefully when we arrive on Monday I will feel more at ease!
