I woke up at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to do my cleaning anyway (I was going to let Alice do it today).
Today was Anzac Day - the anniversary of when Australian and New Zealand soldiers landed at Gallipoli for World War 1 (not that I just had to remind myself by looking on Wikipedia or anything). Bex went with Barry's family to Dawn service (but I'd rather have carried on sleeping, thank you very much). I would have done whatever it is you're supposed to do on Anzac day, but I couldn't really tell what it is! Jake made me stop cleaning to watch the procession of soldiers walking the streets (which is the sort of thing Sam was made to do when he was at Beavers on Remembrance Day).
Exciting news to report for today was that Dave has changed the internet so that it's stronger- I can actually access it from the comfort of our room/ the sofas in the TV room! So I watched some more Spanish YouTube videos- I'm not sure how much this will help but it surely can't do any harm.
I also did the afternoon cleaning shift today, so that me and Bex are both free Sunday morning for rafting. I asked Dave what I was supposed to do and he just said anything as long as it's cleaning. Any normal person would have taken this as reason to do really easy jobs that you could palm off as cleaning. House proud workaholic over here however, decided to give herself the task of scrubbing down every inch of the shower and toilet walls, which had been bugging me how dirty it was for a while. It was bloody hard work, so I chilled out watching Inglorious Basterds.
Went to the Woolshed to get my free pizza, and whilst waiting for it, we watched the 'meal or no meal' game they were putting on as entertainment. It was basically deal or no deal but with prizes such as a dive course, white water rafting, a bottle of Pepsi, etc. I'm not sure whether the girl took the $50 woolshed cash or got the chicken nuggets in the end.
