For some reason, I felt compelled to wake up early, which was good as I woke up quite early anyway. Because the hostel is 40 minutes out of town, I have booked the remaining nights at Nomads in the centre, so I made my way into the city, and left my luggage at Mad Travel next door, to go shopping for mums birthday present.
I then got a bus to One Tree Hill, which is a volcano spot, and offered pretty cool views of both the city and the surrounding Cornwall park, although it wasn't fantastic weather (in fact I should have come out a bit more prepared with a raincoat). I then walked to the information office, where a man was exhibiting his artwork, which were mostly photographs where had somehow managed to make some of the colours stand out really brightly, which were pretty cool.
By that time, Alice had text me, so I got back on the bus, and met up with them outside the theatre, and then we went to Peter Pans as we had thought the refund from the Franz Josef glacier hadn't been enough, but it turned out it was correct.
We had a quick coffee, before I caught the bus to Constellation bus station, where Stu (who is Grandma's cousin's grandson) and his wife Bridget picked me up. They took me to the beach, but it started to rain shortly after we got there, so we headed back to theirs via the supermarket. We had a really nice tea of falafels with feta and tomato humus, mushrooms, aubergine, salad and cheese, and I was excited to try feijoas (a fruit) because they had a tree in their garden, and the cyclone had blown them off the tree. I tried one just as it is, and then we had them stewed with ice cream for pudding, and Bridget let me bring some back for Alice and Flo to try. We got on really well, and I had a good night, although I think I made Bridget want to go travelling again!
