September 5th - Winton/ Age of Dinosaurs Museum.

We left Longreach and drove almost to Winton. We went to a dinosaur museum and learnt all about dinosaurs, and such as how it looked like 95 million years ago. The museum is all about the dinosaurs they found in QLD, they are very unique. We saw the actual remains of two different dinosaurs but there have been many others found as well. The first two dinosaurs are called Banjo and Matilda. Banjo is the first dinosaur of his kind ever found and it is a Skartopus. Matilda is also the first of its kind and is a type of sauropod. The scientists think that Banjo and Matilda had a fight on the banks of the muddy billabong and both died, one dying from the fight and one dying from being stuck in the mud and slowly dying. I also got to touch a real dinosaur thigh bone and got to watch scientists work on real dinosaur bones that they found. Later that night we camped by a billabong and my family watched the sunset while I threw rocks into the billabong for someone else's dog to chase.
