September 6th- Cloncurry
This morning we drove into Winton and went to the opal shop to have a look at some opals. Then we drove hundreds of kms and got to Cloncurry. Then we went to a shady park which cooled us down. After that we drove to an old abandoned town and mine. The town shut down because the mine shut down. In the old pit of the mine the colour of the water was a beautiful blue. That night we camped on the banks of a beautiful lake and we got to swim in the water. When we went for a walk we saw a Kite's nest and the two Kites who lived in it at the top of a gum tree. Mum was lucky to find one of their feathers on the ground nearby.
That night after tea we all played a card game called Penny on the Queen, it's my favourite game.
September 7th - Mt Isa and Camooweal
This morning we only had a short drive into Mount Isa. We could see a huge mine. We stayed there for about 2 hours having a look around. We went to a family fun park to play. The swings go so high and there is a wet area. It was so nice and cool in the wet area.
After lunch we drove to Camooweal and stayed at a caravan park behind a pub. We got to have a swim in the pool but it was cool. We played Penny on the Queen again after tea.
