Today we left King Ash Bay and had lots of driving to do to Hells Gate. When we got there we played footy because there was grass there. We have not had grass since Darwin. The next day we left Hells Gate and went to Lawn Hill but before that we stopped at Doomadgee, an Aboriginal town, to get some fuel and bread from the bakery. The bread is so good. We saw a cow resting at someone's front door and horses just walked in the streets.
Then we got back on the road again and drove through a dry catlle station with hundreds and hundreds of cows. When we got to Lawn Hill we set up and went to the river and swam in the waterhole. It was so pretty because there were lilly pads everywhere. I jumped off the pontoon or just sat in a tube and watched Will and Jack jump off a branch of a big tree. Then I decided to have a turn. When I went up I was freaked out. I was not scared about jumping off, I was scared of getting up because it was so muddy and slippery, but Jack and Will helped me. After that we went back to the van and had happy hour to relax after a big day.
The next day we woke up and went canoeing through the gorge. The rock walls were huge and red. The water was clear and had lilly pads all along the sides. When we got to the rapids at the end of the creek Jack and Will tried to go across them in the kayak while I swam against the rapids then floated back with it. When we got back we had lunch then went for a walk to beautiful falls in the middle of the gorge. There were crocs in the water but they were only freshies so they will only attack you if they feel cornered or threatened. After that we went back to the river at our camp. I just sat in a tube watching Jack and Will jump off the rope swing. When we got back to the van we sat around the camp fire and listened to music.

Nannette and Poppy Den It was very good of your brothers to help you on the branch so that you could join in with jumping off into the water. Canoeing through the gorge sounds like fun. It's amazing at how high the rock walls can be - and I bet the colour was amazing to see.
