From what I'd heard of the island I thought it was going to be like Koh Phangan again, just westerners filling the beach, boozing and ruining the island.. Turns out it's not that bad, yet. There are 80% Philippines traveled from other islands and a fair number of Chinese.. So it still feels fairly authentic. The islands pretty cool, you can walk from one coast to the other with beaches on either side and it only takes about 10 minutes. White beach, the main beach on the west coast is really nice, white soft sand for about 4km and has a great view of sunset.
The hostel is pretty cool, clean and spacious and it has a computer. Managed to get some the videos of my go pro from the Philippines and edit and combine them with some music. The hostel also has a few Chinese tourists init and watching them trying to eat breakfast does entertain me. Watching them try and use a knife and folk must be like us trying to use chopsticks.. Like watching a toddler eat.
We must've walked for about 2 hours, looking for a bicycle rental place and the only one we could find was charging £25 for the day... We've only been paying £8 for a motorbike for the day. It's crazy expensive in this island! Managed to haggle down to £7 for 5 hours.. Still, nearly about cried parting with that! We heard of a beach which was supposed to be pretty special on the north side of the island.. And looking on a map we thought 15 minutes tops! Didn't calculate or realise there was a mountain dividing north and south.. Well 45 minutes later.. Crawling along Puka beach. I was dead. Met up with some people we met on Puka that live in Dubai, one of them actually looks like Jords twin, only took 7 months of travelling to find someone that looks like him. We ended up playing beer pong with them at a bar, it was already girls vs boys, so me and Jord Rock Paper Scissors who'd be on the lads team.. I didn't win.. The girls said we're not that bad.. We've just never one.. Hurting the boys pride a little, I sank over half the shots in for the girls. Showing I out my time at uni to good use...
