Moal Boal white beach was pristine! The water a light blue rivalling the clear water of Koh Phangan, the beach was white sanded and didn't stick to you which was nice! Now considering this was the first beach id been on in 7 weeks, safe to say I went all out and got as much sun as I could! Maybe a tad too much! We were there for a good 6 hours.. Got some good colour! Although I was feeling every inch of the sun the next day! The following day we made use of our diving course and did a fun dive around one of the islands off the coast of Moal Boal, it was very different from koh Tao. The current here was very strong and the visibility not great. Although we actually went down to 33m and saw lots of jellyfish and a turtle to round it off at the end. Of course Jordan disappeared with one of the dive masters with 15 minutes to go because he'd run out of air.. But it was cool to be back in the water diving again! Later we decided to rent out some snorkels and fins and snorkel around the reef and the drop off, swimming over the reef is just as impressive as diving. The colours are more vibrant as your closer to the surface and you see a few smaller fish that don't tend to venture further down. I've been practicing free diving and holding my breath on land so that when It comes to snorkelling I can stay under longer. I average 3 minutes 30 lying down but diving down to 20m on one breath and swimming around I can only last a minute 30, although with practice I could learn my limits better and stay down longer. But it's amazing to just swim down and hover or swim around at that depth on a single breath and just take it all in. It's a strange feeling looking up seeing all that water above you knowing you still have to swim 20m to take another breath. The most fun part was swimming towards a school of sardines that apparently always hang around the reef, literally thousands of them. I swam into them and as they started to create a tunnel around me which was amazing to see, I met some scuba divers around 15m and their faces when they saw me without a tank and gear swimming around was priceless. Because the currents are pretty strong around these islands we drifted down the reef a little way, so we swam across the shallows and happened to come across a turtle grazing; and managed to get some cool photos swimming next to it.!
