Ahmebad was an experience to say the least. When we arrived the hotel taxis hadn't arrived so we tried to flag down tuk tuks for 18 people and their bags. Me and Jord got into one with a young lad about 19, seemed like a friendly guy who spoke less English than I did hidi but was adamant he knew the hotel.. Sure why would he lie. Before we set off he pulled over to add some air to his back tire and just smiled at me.. After driving for about 5 minutes he pulls over again, kicks his tire and asks us to get out... He and another tuk tuk driver tilt the tuk tuk a worrying 40 degrees and prop it up with just a log and proceed to change the tire. The driver, still smiling away is having a great time me and Jord on the other hand are a tad worried as he keeps asking people if they know where the hotel is.. This carried on for about 30minutes and we went over the same bridge 3 times. We finally stop and find someone to ring our previous tour guide after realising we have no one on the tours number. He tells us the name of the hotel and eventually after asking for many directions we arrive.. Only to find out this isn't actually our hotel as it doesn't do day stays.. Although they did know the name of the one we were staying at. Again after stopping for more direction we finally arrive.. An hour and a half late. Safe to say I'd had enough of tuk tuks for a while. No tip for you sir!
