Queenstown here we come! The started off pretty casual, until we realised we had 5 mins to check out. After that rush we were in the car and ready to go. The drive from Haast to Wanaka was amazing! The best scenery we have seen so far. The drive was along side a river with the bluest water I've ever seen, plus green hills, and snow capped mountains!
Two hours later we were in Wanaka. Wanaka is a beautiful tidy town right on the lake. We had a quick look at the shops and then were on the way to Queenstown.
We went through the Crown Ranges which gave us an amazing view of Queenstown. The town itself is very compact, fitting a lot into a small space. There are some very steep roads which make it difficult when driving. This is definitely a tourist town, as in many things like chocolate bars are way more expensive than anywhere else in NZ. Also I'm sure the activities are more expensive than what they need to or should be.
For dinner we went to Ferg Burgers which came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Shortly after that it was time to head home and head to bed, travelling can be tiring work!
