After weather issues and being delayed by a day we finally made it to the snow!! A few months ago I had been lucky enough to get a deal on Living Social for $1 ski passes, and now was the time to use them. Interestingly enough the one person who thought it was a stink deal when I brought them, was the one person who came with me. Sarah Darlington, come on down haha!
The drive there was sweet, probably because I was passenger. So nice to be among the rolling green hills for a change, and not the standard WA flat coarse bush surrounded by red dirt. The best part of the drive was turning a corner and seeing these two magnificent snow covered mountains appearing from behind paddocks, New Zealand at it's best!
So I'll admit, I was pretty nervous about this whole snowboarding thing, had never done it before, but was pretty keen to give it a go, until we were on the mountain..... I had no idea what I was doing, or how I was supposed to control this board but then I looked over and saw kids that had to be between 8-10 carving it up. If they can do it, surely I can do it. And man did I give it a good go!! It was so much fun!! I mastered turning, slowing down, getting up good speed, but I had no idea how to stop. So everytime I needed to stopped I just bailed off the board and fell into the snow!!! Awesome!! Can't wait to go again, and since I brought 8 x $1 passes I might not have to wait too long!!
