Kya Travels
After our regular sleep in I woke up and got ready, then played guitar for a bit while Darren got ready, then we went down to the supermarket for apples, then to subway for lunch, then went back to the hostel where we found Pancho and Nina at reception checking in! We gave them some big hugs, then ate our subway while they finished checking in and put their bags upstairs, then we all went down for a walk through town. We chatted and walked down O'Connell street, then through some markets and shops, and a pharmacy for some medicine, then we slowly made our way back to the hostel. We stopped in an off license for a couple of 8-packs of Guinness then had a look through a souvenir shop to see what stickers they had, then went back to the hostel. We got a table and sat down and had a few drinks and just chatted for ages catching up on our lives. We discovered that Pancho and Nina had actually broken up and weren't together anymore, which was a little awkward, and almost got the conversation in too deep, so eventually we headed out together to Centra where we all grabbed a pizza for dinner, as well as another 8-pack of Guinness. We went back to the hostel and ate and drank for a bit longer, as well as getting some free mulled wine. (We didn't miss out today!) When it got to 9pm, we headed out and walked together with Larisa and another guy from the hostel, Sean, and walked down to The Porterhouse, where a band was playing, which was a band we had seen last time we were here called Sliotar. We were extremely impressed with them last time, so we headed there and watched them play while we all chatted and had a drink. We got a song played that Darren had requested, which was a very nice acapella song called A Mans Love. We mucked around a while and got some funny photos together, (including one where Larisa lined up some salt pretending it was coke!) then when the band finished their set, and after Larisa and Sean headed home, the four of us walked through some crazy busy streets, and headed towards the Old Storehouse. There were people everywhere, and the vibe of the city was amazing! We headed into a crazily busy Old Storehouse and walked through the throngs to find Andy and Isa outside. We chatted and chilled with them out there, topping up our drinks with Guinness cans from my pockets again, then went inside and found Pancho and Nina at a table, so got another drink and watched the band play, which was two guys playing pop/rock covers. So we spent the night drinking, chatting, taking funny photos, and just spending quality time with quality people. At the end of the bands set, the venue put on 'Closing Time' again, so we had to finish our drinks then headed out to try find somewhere to have one last drink together, as Andy and Isa were flying home in the morning, and Nina was ready for bed. We ended up changing our minds, and just got some garlic and cheese chips before saying goodbye to Andy and Isa, then walked back to the hostel. We said goodnight to Pancho and Nina then headed straight to bed.
