Super fun little meet up yesterday. Here's the story.

Two years ago when I was in the UK around the commonwealth games, I was in Newcastle for like one night to check out the city/party (google it. it's where they film the British version of Jersey shore - Geordie shore).

While I was there I met a group of people in the hostel including a couple girls from New Zealand, one of whom I have actually kept in touch with. When I knew I was coming to this corner of the world, I sent her a massage to see if she would be around.

Turns out that she would also be travelling at this time. She was H eading up through the UK and then over to South East Asia where I just came from, so unfortunately it didn't look like a meet up would be feasible.

Then, by some stroke of luck, her travels included a layover in Melbourne the same day that I was arriving! So two years later on the other side of the world, we managed to arrange a meet up for coffee in Terminal 4 of Tullamarine.

It was awesome to meet up and chat about our adventures (that had already happened and/or that lay ahead). It's so cool to meet like minded people from so far away and then be able to connect again under various and sometimes unexpected circumstances. This was a great way to arrive in Melbourne!

The magic of social media, hey? The moral of the story: keep in touch, you never know what it might lead to.
