Hey everyone ,

well since we spent a few days in Mission beach not being able to do much at all. We headed here. Townsville a small town close to Magnetic island. We spent two nights here before heading over to the island. This town is a nice place with another esplanade just over a mile long running along side the beach. Again with a swimming pool , kids water park , baskeball courts , a playing field , lots of playing areas and exercise aperaters along it oh and the out door electric bbqs. All FREE. ha ha. People all seem to be really active , jogging , speed walking , bike riding skating ect..Townsville also has the biggest indoor coral aquarium in the world. So we paid that a visit. That place was so good , they even had nights where school parties could come and sleep out on the decking around the coral tank under the stars in there sleeping bag!!

After our second night we caught the ferry over to the island , where we stayed for 3 nights. The hostel there was right on the sea front with a resturant and a pool. There didnt seem to be very much we could do on the island at first but eventually found some activitys. We went on forts walk where there were remains of a fort used as a look out in the 2nd world war. Was really nice walk and had exellant views out to sea and all around the island.Second day we took a coastal walk to a nudist beach . He he , was a really nice beach but was so hot there we could only stay for about 30mins so we headed back to the hostel pool to cool down. After our stay we got a bus down to Airlie Beach .......
