Saturday 3rd October - Cathedral Saint Jean Baptiste
We walked through to Square Gambetta which is where the Medieval Festival was being held. This is a lovely square out the back of la Cathedral Saint Jean Baptiste.
As this was on the way we went inside and obviously there was to be a wedding going to be held in the next wee while as petals were being thrown on the floor up to the altar.
We went inside and found a very different sort of church to others we have seen but it was still huge and very lavish.
Frescos and gold everywhere. Some of the frescos were maybe 7mx3m and when you consider how they are done it defies belief that artists spent months and probably years doing them.
There was the usual stained glass and lots of alcoves beautifully adorned down both sides.
