Saturday 3rd October - The Little Train of Perpignan
We found a new route into town much to Jannies consternation!! I don't know where I am is the common call?
We paid our €7 each and boarded the train in full sunshine. It was very hot just sitting there waiting for the journey to begin. Then the medieval Festival parade started and came past the little train delaying the 11.30 start.
These trains would be ideal in Christchurch and is an easy way for the Council to be able to promote the town.
The tour went around most parts of the Old Town took us into the Gypsy area, went past the old Convent that had been used during WW2 as an ammunition storage facility only to have its roof blown off when an explosion happened.
Now the biggest problem with these Little Trains is that they have no springs under the carriages and as such the bum gets a fair workout to say the least.
Many times did I hear an expletive from the lady sitting next to me?
We got back to the start/finish line and got off the seat and eased our bodies back into walking mode and headed for a lunch venue.
