Friday 2nd October - Coffee stop at the Roadside Truck Stop
We pulled in after about 1 hour 20 minutes and had a coffee from the machine which was better than the last time we tried this.
We got back on the road and the motorway as it passed Carcassonne turned into a 3 lane affair and was like that all the way to our turnoff for Perpignan. Not a lot of traffic on our side of the motorway and the trip into Perpignan wasn't as straight forward as we would have liked. The temperature went up from 13 deg at the place we stopped at for coffee to 19.5 deg by the time we got close to Perpignan.
We took the wrong exit at one roundabout and had to do a couple of extra turns at the next couple of roundabouts just to get onto the right road.
We pulled up right outside our hotel which is actually in the same building as both the Avis Rental Agency and the Train Station where we will be getting the train to Barcelona from on Sunday.
Talk about organisation?
We dropped our bags at the hotel as it wasn't check in time until 2.00pm and it was only 11.30am. We had to fill the car up with diesel and then take it to the Avis office. The car took 36.36 litres, which cost €38.87 and we travelled 789 kms.
We finally got the car back to Avis and they charged us for an extra day seeing that we were 1 hour passed the time when we should have had it back. Bloody Rogues.
