This morning we drove to the Safari Helicopters base in Lihue. We joined our group of 6 and were driven down to the airport in a shuttle bus. Our pilot, Brian, took us on a fantastic 45 minute flight over waterfalls, canyons, and rugged coastlines. Because of it's awesome scenery, Kauai has been the scene for many movies and tv shows, most famously Jurassic Park.

After the flight we decided to drive up to Waimea Canyon (which we had just flown over). We stopped at a few vantage points along the way but by the time we got to the main lookout it had started pouring with rain. It didn't look like clearing, so we headed back, thinking we might try again tomorrow.

For dinner we enjoyed a very nice meal at Brennecke's Broiler Restaurant on Poipu Beach.
