Our last day! We left our bags with the concierge and caught the shuttle to Universal Studios. We did a tram tour of the back lot, where we saw the stage buildings and outdoor sets for Desperate Housewives, Jaws, Tokyo Drift, and War of the Worlds.After that we tried some of the rides and shows before leaving around 5 to get back to the hotel and pick up our bags before heading off to the airport at 7pm. This morning we went on a 4 hour bus tour on which we saw Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Sign and Beverly Hills. Our tour guide was a weird old guy who looked like the Godfather.

Disneyland actually consisted of two separate parks...California Adventure Park and the original Disneyland. We started off at C.A.P. and headed for the newest attraction Cars but couldn't get on because of the crowd. So we went to Paradise Pier and rode on the Mickey Mouse Ferris Wheel which is not as tame as it sounds ...it has a very scary sliding and swinging action. We got up fairly early to catch the train to LA and Holiday Inn provided a free shuttle to the station. When we checked in, they offered to take our bags which would have been good. However our luggage was a bit overweight which didn't cost any more...it just meant that the rail staff wouldn't handle the bags...we'd have to carry them on board ourselves. That would have been ok except that they make you lug them up to the racks upstairs in the doub...

I went for a tour of the USS Midway Museum which is just down the road from the hotel. There were a number of guides who had previously served on the ship which was good. Afterwards we all drove to Old Town where there were lots of shops with leather bags and Mexican clothes, sombreros etc. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant which we thought looked quite authentic but we all agreed the food was terrible!After that, we returned the hire car after 10 days and ...
