Spanish Adventures
So after a little less than a week in Granada I think I'm finally figuring out my way around. It's an absolutely beautiful city with so many things to discover and places to explore and I can't believe I get to spend the next five months here.
So far all of the food has been amazing - even though a lot of times I wouldn't think it would be. For example, today for lunch we had meatballs with ham in them and a fried egg. That's a combo I never would have thought of but they went together surprisingly well.
Today a group of us also decided to go on a hike to see nice views of the city and the Alhambra. The majority of the "hike" was through the narrow and winding streets of Albayzin, the Muslim quarter of the city. The last leg was a dirt path that went up to a fire tower or something like that and it was probably one of the steepest hills I've ever climbed up.
Even though my legs felt like they were going to give out and I prayed I'd had the foresight to bring my inhaler, we got to the top and the views were amazing. Going down was also tough, but I didn't fall and for that I was really proud.
Overall I think week one has been a success and I'm excited (/nervous) to start classes tomorrow!
