We left Nelson and headed towards Nelson Lakes National Park. We stopped next to Lake Rototi which was surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains. We went for an hours walk through the native bush before stopping for a group photo by the lake. We drove through the winding Buller Gorge before reaching Westport. On arrival we stopped of at Buller Adventure Tours to go Jet Boating. We had loads of fun, it was pretty cold and very fast! The boat had a huge engine and we were travelling at 60km/hour in only 10cm of water at times. The guide was doing 360 degree spins, driving intentionally close to the rocks and generally doing lots of tricks with the boat- it was loads of fun & we also got to experience the beauty of the Buller Gorge.
