Lake Como! We arrived about midday monday and left our luggage at the hotel while we wandered before check in time. We had the most amazing salad at a nearby cafe- they had 50 types of salads to choose from, and huge! For about 6-8 euros. Best! We went back to our hotel, for which we'd accidentally booked a 4 bed room for, but emailed and changed back in May. The owner refused to give us our two bed room, insisting we hadn't confirmed his email (for the third time!) and tried making us pay for the 4 beds. So after he proceeded to yell at us in italian we went and sourced other accommodation. It cost more than expected but still less than 4 beds! We had a relaxed afternoon before wandering around to find somewhere to eat. I had a risotto, and malaika had a pizza and we sat and enjoyed a cheap cocktail. Before heading home we had the best gelato- best I've had so far!
Tuesday we woke, had breakfast and explored the town. We found paddle boats that looked like little racing cars so hired one to take out on the lake, like good tourists should! We spent the rest of the day wandering the town, looking in shops- and buying some clothes for the first time in forever. Don't worry mum, they were cheap and we split the cost so we have a communal wardrobe now! We had lunch at the salad cafe, but tried a panini. Best panini I've had in Italy, and only €3.50! All about the savings :) a little more wandering before we headed back to the hotel. For dinner we bought a pizza from a pizza shop and took it to the park and ate it looking over the lake. My blog photo is us enjoying it! It was delicious and saved us a lot of money. We then found a cocktail bar, with happy hour and with the purchase of a drink you can have finger food too, perfect! Wednesday morning we went to the park and did a workout- my first since leaving home. It felt so so good, not so good the next day though! We then sat by the lake as I skyped home then onto our bus!
Next stop, Nice!
