Nice, again! We arrived into Nice just in time for another €2 spaghetti night on Wednesday evening, such good value. We met up with Aleesha again, who I'd first met in Amsterdam and happen to keep bumping into. We stayed at the hotel socialising and headed to bed later on. Thursday we had an early start, got ready and headed to the supermarket for supplies for the day. We had breakfast, made our packed lunch and headed for the bus stop. We went to Monaco, home of the Monte Carlo Casino and the very very wealthy! We explored the port with the amazing, huge boats of the rich, and headed up to the casino. Until midday the casino is open for viewing in the rooms but at a cost, and then from 2pm its open for gambling. The citizens of Monaco aren't even allowed to gamble there because it's wasting the country's money. We didn't go into the rooms but walked into the entrance hall, it's pretty impressive. We headed back to Nice for a relaxed afternoon and then made our way to the old town for dinner. We did a set menu, €15 for three courses, and good food! That evening we found an area myself and Kristen missed, lots of winding streets filled with restaurants, bars and pubs so we explored before heading back. We watched a few street performers as well. Friday we had a fairly early start, had breakfast. And went to make our packed lunch to find all our supplies had been stolen out of the hostel fridge :( we bought more and hid them in our room this time. We did a little shopping down the main street before spending the afternoon at the beach. It was so so hot so after a couple of hours we made our way back for spaghetti night only to find out it wasn't on :( back into town for us! We bought a takeaway pizza and ate it on the beach before heading into the old town again and having some dessert. A little more wandering and back to our hotel!
Next stop, Barcelona!
Fun fact for the day: To even be considered as a citizen of Monaco you have to pay €1 million with your application. If you fail, you don't get that back either! Oh to have that much money.
