Another week has gone already! Time flying. Met with the school about Zac and he'll now stay in his current class with extension work as necessary. The school have been very helpful in suggesting strategies so hopefully it will keep him challenged and happy. Zac really relieved and settling happily now. Zoe continuing to be very excited about school and her class. Phew!
The school provides optional activities immediately after lessons (at a cost) from 4-5pm. They provide the children with a 'snack' (a biscuit!!- urrr) and then transition them to whichever activity they are doing. Parents don't pick up children till after this usually so the day ends about 5pm. Zoe doing martial arts, netball, tennis and art and Zac doing art, martial arts and touch rugby (no soccer unfortunately!). Another wave of uniform buying and cost but the kids are very excited. Zac imparticular by the promise of nunchucks for marital arts (OMG!!!!). It's a very long day given they arrive at school at 8am (with a plethora of sports, book, and music bags). We might have to see how it all goes as we have VERY tired children by the time they get home. For the next 2 weeks we have a 1 hour drive each way! Looking forward to moving closer in October.
Loving not having to make lunches. They get a hot school lunch and it is very much a gourmet 3 course affair. For example- on the menu today is cream of broccoli soup with crumbled fetta and fresh mint, followed by sweet potatoe cottage pie, schezchuan pork with wok fried noodles and vegetables then dessert of orange brioche bread and butter pudding with custard! Wish I could sneak in and eat with them! The old cheese and vegemite sandwich is going to be hard to go back to!
