Today saw the lovely Arc du Triomphe, Sacre Coeur in the sunshine and the Moulin Rouge. Highlight was visiting the Louvre. Zoe and I got front row view of the Mona Lisa.... so special...unbelievable! After much debate over the astronomical costs involved, again having our pre booking of tickets lost and a 1 hour queue ...we finally walked through the gates into the magical Disneyland. Phew!! Kids in heaven!!! The Carousel, pinicchio ride, the teacups and my favorite... the magical 'Its a small world afterall' all enjoyed++++. Had a lovely first proper day in Paris. Beautiful weather. After a decadent buffet breakfast we headed straight to Versailles to see the palace and amazing hall of mirrors and then had lunch in the sculptured gardens. Caught the train to back to Paris with the kids bouncing on the seats in excitement each time they spotted the Eiffel Tower. Spot the tourists! Was 4pm by the time we reached the city. Well despite multiple dramas- we've finally arrived in our hotel in Paris. Has been a series of complication after complication to get here from lost bookings to triple bookings to car overheating meaning missed train etc etc but we're here. 4 hours sleep with a 4am start and exhausted but the sun is shining and hoping the troubles are behind us now! Baguets and brie and a little French wine helping raise spirits!
