Happiness Is The Road
I hardly had any sleep last night as I was so excited! This is the day that Jay arrives and I'm picking her up from the airport later on. The day was spent just chilling, tracking Jays flight in from Singapore on the internet and getting more and more excited as the day went on. Jay is flying in with her son, Jack, who is going off on his own backpacking adventure around Australia. Her flight was due in at 4.55 and according to the internet would land at about 5.05. I set off to the airport just after 4 and easily parked up the camper (our new home together) and found International Arrivals. I was there at 4.45 and checked the information screen. The plane hadn't landed yet. I just kept staring at the screen and suddenly the word landed appeared next to Jays flight. I became delirious with excitement. She was on Australian soil. I became very emotional and was virtually crying with happiness. After about 20 minutes the first people started to emerge into the arrivals area. More and more people came out but no sign of Jay yet. My excitement was becoming stratospherically high. Any moment now she would appear from behind the sliding doors. I couldn't wait for that beautiful moment when we became one again. And then suddenly she appeared through the doors looking around. It took her two seconds to see me and her face was shining and happy. I was ecstatic! She came running over to me and flung herself into my arms. We just kissed and hugged and hugged. It was so good to welcome her to Australia. Unfortunately for Jack he had to stand there with the bags for a while like a gooseberry. We all then walked out of the airport and to the car park where the camper (our first home together) was waiting. The weather was perfect for Jay and Jack to arrive into. It was a very comfortable 25 degrees with a clear blue sky. We first of all drove to the beach suburb of Glenelg where we dropped ******** at his hostel. Jay and I then drove along the coast up to Semaphore to the camp site. Jay was absolutely shattered. We unpacked her stuff including about 20 pairs of socks! I reminded her that she had come to Australia and not Siberia!!! We opened our presents for each other, had showers and grabbed something to eat. We then got the camper into 'night mode' and crashed. We were both worn out. We both went to sleep dreaming of all the adventures to come. I can't believe that Jay is in Australia. We are both in f**cking Australia!!!
