Happiness Is The Road
It had been very 'local' in Price and I'd enjoyed staying there but it was now time to go to the big city. It was very hot this morning and was going to be a scorcher of a day. I left Price and hit the highway up the peninsula until I hit Highway One that would take me to Adelaide. It was a dual carriageway and by far the biggest road I've been on since leaving Perth. The traffic got busier the closer I got to Adelaide. I'm not used to all this traffic and all these traffic lights with big junctions after the calm and quiet of rural Australia. I needed some shopping so I went to a Woolworths first for some food and then I found a Big W as I needed to get some things for when Jay gets here. Only 29 days until I see her now and I can't wait. I am so excited about welcoming Jay to Australia. I bought Jay some thongs (flip flops) and I also needed some more pillows. I also needed some pillow cases and couldn't resist getting one with Elmo from Sesame Street on and the other with Buddy from Dinosaur Train on it. I don't think you can ever be too old to have kid's characters on your bedding! Adult bedding is just too boring and grown up for me! I'm sure that Louis will be very pleased for me to have Dinosaur Train bedding. Whilst in the shopping centre I saw a takeaway food shop called Cha Cha! See the photos. I then went to find the caravan park. I had chosen to go to one by the beach in a suburb called Semaphore Park. It was easy to find with Tom Tom and I was soon there. I booked in for one night as the intention was to go to another of Adelaide's coastal caravan parks tomorrow. I am coming back to Adelaide in January, after I have been to Kangaroo Island where I am spending Christmas doing voluntary work on an animal sanctuary, and I wanted to see which was the best site to come back to. Anyhow after checking out this site I decided pretty much straight away that I wanted to come back here. There were a few things that decided it:- a) I asked at reception if there was a bus that went into the city. I was told yes and that it was the 157. This is the same number as the bus into Manchester back home so that pretty much decided it immediately anyhow, b) the swimming pool looked great, c) the sites are big and spacious, d) site seems very friendly, e) ablutions are good, f) it is a two minute walk from a very nice beach and the water is lovely and warm, g) I got chatting to the guy opposite and he said that this was a better site than the other one I'd been planning on going to at West Beach, h) it just feels like the right site for Jay to join me on. The vibes are just spot on here. So I went back to reception and booked in here for 3 nights now and also booked in for a week In January for when Jay gets here. I told Jay where I was and she was very excited. It was very hot and humid here this afternoon, around 39 degrees, and there was a bit of a thunder storm . It didn't cool down much by the evening and it was another of those nights where I had to have the fan on to get to sleep.
