Happiness Is The Road
We had one more day in Sydney. After brekky we wandered over to North Ryde and got the Tangara into the city. We changed trains at Town Hall today and got another train through to Kings Cross. From here we walked down William Street to the Sydney branch of Travellers Autobarn. I had arranged for us to go and meet Adam, the guy who I had emailed and spoken to on many occasions to organise buying the camper. We wanted to get a quote from him for hiring a similar camper from them while we are in New Zealand and also to discuss our options when coming back to Australia. We are planning to hopefully return to Australia after New Zealand to continue our travels here for a few months. It was great to meet Adam and put a face to the voice. He got us a very good hire quote and he also said that we could store our camper at their Perth branch free of charge whilst we are in New Zealand. That means we can still use our lovely little camper back in Australia for a further trip from Perth to Sydney. After leaving Travellers Autobarn we walked down to the city and had a good mooch round. We went back to Circular Quay and took some more photos before discovering that it was beer O'clock. We walked up to The Rocks area again and back to the Lord Nelson pub for some more excellent real ale. It was a pint of Quayle Ale and a pint of Trafalgar Ale tonight. Also luckily it was Monday and $7 beef pie night. We ordered two pies with our pints. At around six we walked back down to Circular Quay to watch the big Celebrity X cruise ship leave. We took our place on the harbour side along with quite a few other people who had come to watch. At around twenty past six the huge ropes that were attaching the ship to the quay side were released and the tugs arrived to connect up and drag the ship away from the harbour. It was quite a spectacle and very interesting to watch. We walked along to the end of the harbour and watched this mighty colossus sail out of the harbour. Jay was waving them off but the nasty corporates on board the ship didn't wave back! They sailed off in their 5 star extortionate luxury and we caught the Tangara back to North Ryde and the camp site where our gorgeous little camper was waiting for us to return. We don't need en suites and luxury when we've got each other in the most cosy camper ever. We both love the way that we live. The freedom is incredible and we can't wait to continue our journey. We are going to leave Sydney tomorrow and continue our journey onwards and northwards around this amazing country.
