The rain poured all night and by morning it had actually got worse - not looking good for everyone that is supposed to be flying back to La Paz today. David, Miriam, Julia and I hung around using the free Internet connection we had whilst waiting for the rain to subside. Around midday I went on a bit of a mission trying to find something for lunch whilst doing my best not to get soaking wet. The others were all flying back to La Paz at 4:30pm today so at 2:30pm they all left for the airport and I was left to keep myself busy. Luckily the rain had stopped so I went for a bit of a walk along the river and decided I would take the ferry over to the other side of the river and have a look at the small town on its banks. The town was very small and there was not much to see or do so I went for a walk around, one thing I noticed was tons of mango trees however the fruit was far from ready. I think a lot of fruit and vegetables grow up here because of the humidity, constant heat and torrential downpours. There is not much to Rurrenabaque and I really have no idea how I am going to spend the next day and half. The rest of the afternoon I wondered around the markets, streets and tried to kill time. In the evening I treated myself to some roast chicken and watched the rest of a film I had on my iPad. There is a bar near to my accommodation and like every night I have stayed here they cranked music until 4 in the morning - Bolivian men love to drink and drink until they drop; somewhat like the young Australian drinking culture.
