After a very good nights sleep and even a bit of a sleep-in for me I was up at 6am to do my exercises. Unfortunately I was already covered in 100s of bites and incredibly itchy all over. For breakfast we had scrambled eggs, fruits, pancakes, bread, Choco milk and tea and at 9am we headed off into the jungle again, however in a different direction. We found another Tarzan rope and all had a swing before getting back to the trek. Today was very hot, humid and animals were hard to spot, we saw a squirrel and went deep into jungle trying this incredible anesthetic plant and drinking from a tree trunk.
We stalked wild pigs in mush a pit which our guide managed to call with his various pig noises and then headed back to the camp.
On our return we found a new group of Israelis and Italians who were all really cool and were all excited for the start of their jungle trip. For lunch today we had beef, broccoli and coliflour, tomato and onion salad, vegetable soup, potato mash and rice; there was so much food and everyone of us were as full as farts.
After lunch we were off into the jungle again to go fishing; we walked about half an hour to a small river where Zenon cleared an area where the 5 of us could fish. Zenon demonstrated how to bait, cast and on the first try pulled in a Pirahna. With that i was off ready to catch my first pirahna - we used beef as bait and small hooks and literally soon as the bait hit the water the pirahna would attack it. They were so quick it improved almost impossible to snag them and after an hour none of us had even got close to catching one. Zenon went and found another spot, cleared the area and then we all moved. After about 30 minutes Rahul pulled in a Pirahna and we were all stoked we had finally for one as the others had all but given up. I was determined to catch one and spent the next two hours in deep concentration trying my best to also catch one; unfortunately I couldn't catch one of the elusive Pirahnas but enjoyed the tranquility and the fact I was fishing the amazon river. Rahul ending up hooking a turtle aswell and got quite a shock when on the end of his line was a turtle. For dinner tonight we were served spaghetti Bolognase which was kind of disappointing as the sauce was just tomato and onion with no meat and a small salad for all 5 of us. Unfortunately we had only caught two fish whilst fishing and they were both tiny so sharing them between 5 meant less then a taste each. We did however get som hot tea so I drank myself silly on black tea. After tea Zenon our guide asked if we would like to go on a night walk - the others were tired but I managed to convince everyone it would be awesome so we chucked on our hiking gear and were off into the jungle again. The jungle is incredible at night, bugs, insects and other critters bring the jungle to life. Everywhere we shown the lights there were insects collecting food, building nests, hunting and eating. We walked for hours and every one of us had doubts as to how the hell Zenon was going to guide us back. Rahul the Spanish guy and the girls are incredibly scared of bugs and as you can imagine the jungle is teething with them so every time a bug would fly into him he would jump and scream making for some hilarious moments. We had to cross rivers and walk down muddy embankments and nearly everyone slipped on there ass which once again provided some comical relief and Zenon spent most of the night laughing at us. By 11pm we were back and incredibly exhausted - I fell on my bed and went straight to sleep like everyone else.
