On the way we visited the 4th century B.C. theatre of Epidaurus which seated and still seats 14,000. Day 44 Tuesday 24/09 Kastraki (Meteora) > Delphi 25 deg Sunny John here...Another day of driving...we left Kastraki for Delphi a 220km drive. The road took us through the Pindos Mountains, so it was six hours of concentrated, intense driving, usually in 1st/2nd gear as we zigzagged our way to Delphi (see blog picture). Day 43 Monday 23/09 Metsovo > Kastraki (Meteora) 25 deg Sunny - Enid here...Another lovely breakfast served by George, the hotel owner. The sun was shining, these mountains sure are beautiful. Only 7 tunnels to Kastraki, relatively short drive. Very different landscape to the mountains, reminiscent of Cappodocia with meteoric rocks rising, some up to 700 Mts.
