Judy and John Travel Postcards
Day 47 Friday 27/09 Athens 38 deg Sunny -
John here...The morning started with a 2km walk to Syntagma Square where we caught the HO-HO Bus (Hop On Hop Off) and did the loop of the city and then Port Piraeus. We decided to have lunch then spend the rest of the afternoon at the Acropolis. The Acropolis is a plateau high above the city where the ancients and the Romans built several outdoor theatres, temples to the Gods of the time as well as the Parthenon. The site is under restoration with cranes in use and it seems it has been some years since any work has been undertaken. After many photos we headed back to the hotel for a degustation dinner on the terrace with the view of the Acropolis.
