Judy and John Travel Postcards
Tuesday 1/10 Katakolon 24 deg Cloudy/Sunny -
Judy here...Docked for Olympia and along with all the other tour buses we arrived at the site about 9am. We saw where the flame has been lit since 1936, which this event had just occurred two days prior for the Winter Olympics. Walked the tunnel entrance to the stadium and stood on the starting blocks where thousands of years ago athletes had stood, this was an incredible feeling. We had a guide for this tour which gave us much more insight to the history. We also visited a family winery and olive oil property where we had a tour and lunch, the wines were fabulous but the olive oil in Greece is the best I have ever tasted.
