Puerto Lopez, Los frales and agua Blanca.
A nice guy in the restaurant that we were eating in on the beach in Montanita set us up with the tour guy in Puerto Lopez, so we got on the bus and headed north. He met us at the bus station and took us to a hostel we didn't like and asked for another one closer to the beach and found a real gem with a nice ocean view and a really nice lady who owned it! We booked the Isla de la Plata tour (Poor man's Galapagos) with him for the next day and he insured us we will have an English-speaking guide so mom was really happy!
Before you knew it we were off on the bus to Los Frailes, the nicest beach in Ecuador!!! We spent a couple hours in the extreme heat and sun and mom almost got killed by the waves! "Get me out of here, get me out of here!!! Lol
After she got over her near death experience we headed to Agua Blanca by Tuk-tuk. It's a community couple kilometers inward from the coast where there is archaeological remains and a sulphur pool where you can rub mud all over yourself for some exfoliation! After we walked up to a viewpoint with beautiful views of the valley! I may have gotten some skewered information from the tuk-tuk driver who told me there was a bus that leaves Agua Blanca to put the Lopez but apparently there was no bus! Thankfully we met two people who lived in Cuenca and drove us back to our hotel in their nice vehicle! Sweet!
Afterwards we walked down to the beach, I had a sunset swim and we had a delicious shrimp dinner at a cool little beach hut restaurant as we reminisced about the day and mom's near death experience at Los Frailes
