We started today with a light plane flight over The grand Canyon - we were the only 2 in a six seater Cessna so felt like we were on a private charter! The flight lasted for 45 minutes and took us on a fairly big loop over and around the Canyon-I saw rafts on the Colorado River!
After the flight we drove to the South Rim visitor centre and went for a few
short walks along the rim but nothing could compare to seeing it from the air.
We left the park and began the long drive out of Arizona and into New Mexico. Unfortunately we came through another storm cell just before arriving in Gallup, about 20 miles over the New Mexico border. This is our stop for tonight and hopefully we'll get to explore a bit of this Route 66 town before heading on to Alburquerque and Santa Fe tomorrow. I've looked at the map today and it looks like we'll fit in everything we want to see before we settle in Las Vegas on the 25th!
