Day 13 of our Camino and a hot one it was too. We started fairly early and enjoyed the walk through changing scenery as we’re leaving behind the vineyards and getting into crops once more. Lush rolling hills fertile soil. We’ve noticed that there are very few farm houses. They seem to keep their tractors etc in sheds close to town and travel in and out to the land.
When we got to Santa Domingo we took the chance to have a free session with a podiatrist who was set up in a big tent - some kind of promotion for Gortex we think. She drained my 2 blisters and dressed them and told me how to take care of them - see Raewyn’s blog for her experience of same - l’m glad l didn’t see it. We sang songs today with ‘born’ in the words and got quite a lot especially when we got onto carols. A nice experience when we went out for dinner tonight in a quiet little restaurant. The old guy behind the bar said inSpanish the cook didn’t start till 7 pm and then he must have felt sorry for us because he said stay sit down brought us wine and olives and then proceeded to cook spaghetti and then pork and green peppers and finished off with ice cream. All for 7.50 euros each i.e. $13
