I’m not sure how many days we’ve been walking or even what town we’re in, they all sound so foreign, but we’re tucked up in a very nice Alberge. Bottom bunks are a real plus and our roommates are all young women who are less likely to snore. Only 9 euros each that’s only about 16 dollars. Now here’s breaking news for the day - Raewyn has just come back from her shower gloating over the fact she has her 3 clean pairs of knickers on the line but that means she’s a not wearing any!!
I promised to describe the place we were in last night - well , it was an old dark house very cheaply converted to bunk rooms poor Raewyn slept on an old sofa bed on a sort of landing at top of the stairs. The place was run by an old man about 80 played the ten tenors VERY loudly for two hour then cooked and served chicken risotto and salad for 10. It was a bit uncomfortable because he spoke no English and hardly any of us spoke Spanish. Anyway we all went off to bed early and were wakened up at 6 am with him playing the revalle on the trumpet l kid you not and then the music through the speakers was military marches!!! We all packed and left pretty quick
We walked 22 kms through forestry mostly today and tomorrow we’re heading for Burgos. I’m looking forward to two nights in a hotel which will give our feet a well earned rest and it’s quite a large city with lots to see. Hope all goes well with you all xx
