We arrived in the beautiful city of León yesterday afternoon after an eventful afternoon where we had to follow a diversion to avoid a long unsafe walkway over the top of the motorway leading into the city. It led us up hill and down dale and we saw neither hide nor hair of any other pilgrims and began to think we were going the wrong way but eventually came to the Camino again and Raewyn led us straight to our apartment where we have two nights. We have a washing machine so we went mad and washed everything we’ve got well almost everything.
Then we hit the town and it was great. The most beautiful sunny evening, everyone young and old out enjoying themselves. We met up with Corina from Germany who we’ve kind of kept pace with for a couple of weeks catching up here and there. She showed us the supermercado so we got heaps of food and Raewyn cooked us a delicious steak
And mushrooms, watched BBC news for the first time and went off to bed, a proper bed, no sleeping bag.
This morning we’re going to see León Cathedral and just enjoy the atmosphere
