jean’s camino
Cold first thing this morning as we left Zariquiegui for Zirauqui(don’t ask me to pronounce them) 21 kms. Today we walked up to the steel sculptures high on the hill. A tour bus arrived and passengers got off and set off walking down hill, their opportunity to do some of the Camino. The trail followed a rough path down to a village where we had coffee and apple tart only 3 euros 30. Prices of m. teas and lunches are cheaper than N.Z and a bed in a hostel or albergue is around 11 euros plus another 11 for 3 course dinner. The trail continued through more little villages and wheat fields and grapevines. We were very lucky to get a bed here as lots of people were turned away.
