Bangkok (20.06.2012): What a day. Not my favourite day I might add. I will never complain about English trains again (ok I can't promise that). Thai trains have no schedule. There's a timetable but it's more idealistic.
Finally arrived back at Bangkok after a long long journey that shouldn't have been so long. At 11:30 we said goodbye to our lovely 'Thai Thai Guesthouse' and caught a taxi/truck to Sukhothai bus station whereupon we caught a very crowded bus to Phitsanlok. I got told off for sitting too close to a monk and made to move!
Having no idea when to get off said bus, as luck would have it we did get off at the right stop. We then had to transfer by taxi from the bus to the train station which were inconveniently far apart. After a unsuccessful hunt for food we then had to wait for our 15:08 train which would never really materialised.
Finally we got on a train close to 17:00. There's no updates, no screens and no way of knowing what train you are on. Alas we are here. Sadly we have to be up for 5am to embark upon our journey to Cambodia. Worn out and trying not to think about the fact that we could have flown from Sukhothai in an hour for £40 or got the bus direct! Oh well.. Proper travellers ah! Not looking forward to doing this all over again tomorrow after insufficient sleeping time. I need home comforts today but looking forward to getting to Siem Reap.
Today was also the day we had to say goodbye to Mr G! Enjoy the rest of your stay Mr G and have a happy safe journey back. Thank you so much for lightening my load and leaving me with suncream.. Greatly appreciated! Hope you had a nice relaxing day today. Good call on the bus! See you in September, have a fab summer and enjoy the blog :-) x

Mile Jiminy jillickers Mrs G! That sounds awful. Glad you both made it though and hope the early start and journey today went well. I'm not one to brag but the coach journey this morning was perfectly on time, had air con and I was given food and water! Amaze balls. Have an awesome time in Cambodia. I'm very sad the fun is over for me so will be eagerly anticipating your blog entries from here in. Adventure is out there!
