Chiang Mai Day 1 (14.06.2012): Just arrived in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand with island blues. We awoke early at 'Lime N Soda' to catch the 7:15 ferry to Koh Samui. After spending the best part of the day at Big Buddha beach we caught a taxi to the airport. After a change over at Bangkok (and a meal on each plane!) we landed in Chiang Mai at 18:15.

We have just checked into our hostel, "The Little Bird Guesthouse" which is a slight disappointment: dirty and little security. We are going to give it a chance but may consider moving tomorrow. Perhaps it's the shock of having left our private beach bungalows!
