Well last night it was bye-bye Hong Kong and hello Bangkok. After a lazy Sunday in Hong Kong we said goodbye to our excellent hosts and made for the airport. After a bit of a delay we finally made it to our hotel by the airport in Bangkok at 2:00am. After a quick breakfast and a cheap taxi to the centre of Bangkok (Khao San Road area) we have just checked in to the most wonderful hostel, NapPark. The hostel has so much more charm than our hotel last night. Lots of community areas to chill, no shoes allowed, big mats to sleep on in the day - sure looking forward to the next 5 nights here!
Eagerly awaiting Mr G's arrival tonight!
Wondering what interesting things there will be to eat here! Hong Kong was crazy, they eat everything! I hope there's not any endangered things in the menu like in Hong Kong. I was so shocked re. the shark fin situation in Hong Kong. It was so much worse than I imagined: they are everywhere, in every other shop and totally not restricted to up market places as Gordan Ramsey's programme suggested. It's so sad that they kill so many just for a fin and are now putting them at risk of extinction :-(.
It sure is difficult being a veggie traveller, finding some nice food with research though. Ready for some Pad Thai and Thai curry now. Yum.
It's a get jobs done day today. Going the do our laundry, plan out the next few days and see if we can get the old skype up and running. May visit a night Market later.
Hope everyone at home is ok!
