This weekend was the Clare Valley Half Marathon so we decided to stay close to home and prepare for our week off altogether next week in Kangaroo Island.
Layla had a play-date with Olivia for the day on Friday. That evening Kate and Tony dropped Layla off and stayed around for a few drinks and to let the kids play. They played hard at hide and seek and chicken racing.
On Saturday we decided to make Lefsa in preparation for our next two weeks worth of camping but ended up having to go to Kadina to get buttermilk. Leanne was ok with that though as it allowed her to get a McDonald's Chai Tea and Layla and I to get an ice cream.
Sunday morning we were up bright (daylight savings began!) and early. We got to the oval at 7:30 so I could start my half marathon at 8:00 and Leanne and Layla could do the 5km at 9:00. It was a beautiful day for a run, not too hot but bright and sunny. I finished well and Layla and Leanne finished the 5 hard. Layla ran and walked an equal amount and was flushed and pooped by the end. We also got to have our first run-in with the SAPOL (police) as we discovered someone had hit our car in the parking lot and left. We are now left to fix that...argh! After the race we headed to Olivia's house to pick her up to head to Wallaroo for a relaxing afternoon in the sun on the beach. It was a perfect day! Can't wait for next Friday at 2:25 pm when our break starts!
