We didn't blog for 31st and 1st as we were laid up in bed with a bug - too much Thai food we think!

Today we ventured out hired a scooter and visited some lovely Phuket beaches - Patong (really popular with tourists and just stunning although a little busy) Surin (quiet and gorgeous but the sun today was so strong we moved on after an hour) final stop was Bang Tao (beautifully unspoilt and so quiet) but you must be prepared to share the water with nibbling fish and sand with crabs and ants. We then headed back to our hotel along the coast and parked up for the night.

Phuket town has been fun especially the old town at night with its bustling stalls selling Thai food and homemade crafts, we head back for a kip but once again the beds are awful, mattresses seem to be rock hard in most hotels over here and our backs and necks are killing it's a shame as despite that our room is great and even has English speaking TV channels which came in really handy when we weren't feeling the best.
