We started off early for our boat trip especially excited to see bamboo island and Maya beach the latter being where the movie The Beach was set. It was a horrible heat today, really sticky and with backpacks on our back as you travel you're just sweating and miserable. We got to the island for 11ish met by a hotel rep who walked us through town to the bottom of the hill at our hotel. The room is standard, bug free and equipped with a fan which isn't always enough but it's bearable at the price. The walk to the beach is nice but trekking back uphill not so much anyway ,we get a few hours kip and head out...
