We get to our hotel by taxi from the port (100 bhat each) we check on and discover we have a beautiful sea view (bungalow number 5 at the Queen resort) it's not the cleanest surroundings but it's a steal at £12.50 a night and the room is clean.
We shower and head for the beach, it's gorgeous, the strip is lined with bars and shops but nowhere near as built up as a Spanish resort. It's not too busy and we find a Thai massage parlour which has a balcony overlooking the sea. We pay 200 bhat each for 30mins of violence - it was amazing! They cracked us, walked all over us, stretched us and it felt so good - we are both transformed into pretzels shapes by women 70 years young and as limber as elastic bands by the time they are done. During the attack, we could hear the waves crashing on the shore by our heads - bliss. We then head for a beer to celebrate (we know) and found a spot on the beach to sunbathe in dipping in and out of the sea.
We strolled to our bungalow at 430ish and changed for the evening to head for dinner. Ordering chicken noodles we paid £3 each including drinks and decided to walk off our dinner exploring more of the strip. The further down we walked the busier it became and more touristy, Jacq bought fake ray bans 200 bhat and a head band 100 bhat and we picked up a couple of ciders from the market.
We then darted back for FaceTime with Anna, Bride and Tommy which was fab. Matt tried his parents but the signal in out tree house was rubbish so we managed a quick hello with Jamie.
