Not a bad day at all - had little sleep again with paranoia of bugs and lizards - think we are getting better though thank god for the mosquito net as it gives us some comfort. Clearly not cut out for this "shack life".
We headed off for a stroll along the beach finding swanky seaside bungalows, the hotel has its own beautiful large wooden restaurant on the beach with a big wooden swing and the hosts are so accommodating they even leave out mats for us to sunbathe on outside the restaurant.
We have a fruit salad and eggs for brekkie and then spend the day laying out in the sun.
We head back to our hotel to shower and change, Jacq has developed a cold again we think due to the air con being on too high last night so she doses up on paracetamol, she has really caught the sun. Matts perplexed as to why he hasn't having sat out all day with her and discovers the cream he used, that Jacq gave him, appears to be a sun blocker - he's not amused, although Jacq is in stitches as they always have an ongoing battle about who gets a better tan - it really was an accident though ;)
We head back to seaside bungalows for dinner, initially we tried another restaurant called Rockys but the rice was riddled with ants because they keep the rice bag on the floor - we walked out respectfully, it was pretty awkward though. But the kitchen at Seaside bungalows is clean, the staff are attentive and friendly - we order sweet chicken, Massaman curry and rice and it's gorgeous at only 270 bhat (£4.70)
We sit watching a fisherman get his catch walking through the water holding a net - they light torches on the shore to spot their prey and when it is all lit up it's just beautiful. We head back for an early night discovering a lizard is in our bed whilst we sleep, Jacq jumps up half asleep and Matt strips the place finding the little b***** on a window hiding, he opens it and gets rid. Putting the sellotape into action again - definitely bring this if you want to block them out!
We find a new use for Jacqs' hairgrips, sealing up the mosquito net so no more little beggers can get in. A couple of drinks later and we eventually get some kip - hate, hate, hate lizards!!
