Hi all
Next stop on our journey was Seaforth, which is a sleepy town approx 30 minutes north of Mackay. We decided to stay at the locally run council caravan park (reserve), which although had no direct power or water, had hot showers and was located right on the beach!
The main activity / thing to do was to simply relax, although this was harder said than done!. So whilst there;
- we walked up and down the beach, and also down and up the beach.
- collected a few (hundred) shells to add to our collection;
- tried our hand at yabbie pumping to collect some fresh bait; (boys loved it and were pretty good. My excuse was that my mind as on keeping an eye out for any crocodiles)
- went fishing. (Still yet to get that elusive 'keeper', although did manage to at least bring some small fish to shore. We were sure our luck was about to change but the heavens opened up and forced us to take shelter. Things just weren't the same thereafter. But for the record, the current leader board stands at Dad - 3, Mum - 1, Boys still facing nudie runs).
- found some coconuts (and then proceeded to spend hours!! removing the outer layer)
- adopted a stray dog (which attached itself to the boys and just wouldn't go from their side. It even slept outside our van overnight, and on our chairs when we weren't watching!)

Cooper - We are at Seaforth National Park. It has no power or water, but it looks good and is beautiful. So we go to the beach and for a walk along the beach I think it was a 4kms walk. Then we had a leg of lamb on the webber for dinner.
The next day I went for a walk to go pump yabbies we caught about 50 yabbies for fishing. And on the way back we got so many coconuts and as we were walking back a dog was following us and it would not go away and it followed us to the carven and there was no dog allowed in the park.

Greg & Robin Hitchcock Good to hear from you again....is Hunter still with you? We are missing his adventures. Looks like you have some more craft work to do with those shells:) They make a nice edge around a mirror. Love Gran & Pop
